Yorba Linda Quilters 5.2.14 Sharing And A 38 Cent Special…

OMG! What a great ShowNTell we had in Friday’s Class!  Lots of Quilts and one 38 Cent Special…

Here is a Generational Bow Tie.  Love the different sizes of blocks!  Here is my Black Tie Affair Pattern… all 8″ blocks!

And in addition to the class projects and Family quilts and other great show and tell, there was one VERY interesting quilt… The 38 Cent Special.  This quilt top was found in a Goodwill store in San Bernardino County where they sell clothing by the pound… That’s how this quilt top came to just 38 cents! Now it’s most likely a generational quilt, with the blocks probably made long ago all by hand then the next generation put it together with that stripe sashing by machine.  It is wonderful!  It is awful!  It is Awfully Wonderful!

Look at all those wonderful blocks… Tiny Hexagons, about 1/2″ on each side make up that block near the center and next to it is a tiny Boston Commons block of 1/2″ squares! And the Broken Star!  SO many wonderful and unusual blocks.  Oh, I take it back, this top is simply wonderful!  I made a slideshow highlighting just this quilt.  The link is below…
