States Of Modern Block Of The Week 15: Iowa
When I think of Iowa, I think of three things: Radar O’Reilly, American Pickers and agriculture… Corny, Cornball and CORN! So our modern Iowa block mixes little bit of the Iowa flag and a modern, minimalist interpretation of an Iowa cornfield.
Iowa State Facts:
Capital: Des Moines
Admission to Statehood: December 28, 1846
Flag: the Iowa flag has three vertical stripes: Blue, white and red. On the large white stripe is a bald eagle carrying a blue streamer in its beak. The state motto “OurLliberties We Prize, and Our Rights We Will Maintain” is written on the streamer below. The name of the state is emblazoned in red letters. The flag was adopted in 1921.
