Wow-O-Wow! This is a wonderful block, isn’t it? And with the Bridges Method of Fusible appilique this is an easy block to make. No Piecing. No Matching those Corners. Just Snip, Snip, Snip!
The tree block has always been a favorite and I’m am glad to include it here in our Quilter’s Alphabet Quilt. Of course the block is meant to be set on point, but I kinda like it this way. There is a lovely old tree in a beautiful park near my home that is growing this way at a 45 degree angle to the ground. It is just charming. This is such a traditional block, dating way back, but you can teach an old dog new tricks. Like the others in this series, the Old Oak On-Point block is all fused! The PDF is below and the Bridges Method instructions are also available.
There is lots happening on this site. If you need any of our older Quilter’s Alphabet patterns (The Block Of The Week will continue through 2012), check the archives. And browse around the site for lots of other free patterns. We are working on our 2012 series of Doll Quilts and lots more swap patterns. And there are even more Patterns on my Etsy site. Oh and don’t miss the new but Nostalgic 9 In 9 Quilt we have just started.
And coming soon will be our 2012 Fall Quilts which will be the glorious and historic Burgoyne Surrounded (Supply List now available) and the beautiful Iris Quilt. The Iris block is posted there and the setting will be given in the fall so start working on those Iris blocks!
And just posted for this Summer: The 2012 Sunset and Vine Mystery Quilt. Clues began July 3. If you are just joining us, here is the Supply List… And Clue One.
Here is the Old Oak On-Point PDF…

I’m sorry to be a pain but could you please post this block with no colour in the pdf. I am really loving this block of the week but it does mean a lot of printing to get the layout of the applique.
