We’re BACK! Quilt Classes in North Orange County start again this week and I have been plotting and planning. Now I have a bunch of wonderful projects to share with everyone!
I have been touting the Boho Bricks Quilt. That’s our first big project. Easy and fun!
Our Block of the Week for 2014 is called Do You See…? as in the Christmas carol, Do You See What I See? We are gonna have Christmas all year long with lots of holiday inspired blocks!
But that’s not all I have planned. We are doing swaps in class with a new quilt pattern associated with each swap. That’s one new free quilt pattern each month. And the first four patterns are based on Grandma’s quilts (seriously!)
The first Swap Pattern in a variation of the vintage Nelson’s Victory block. Grandma made a wonderful quilt. (Second from the bottom in this picture:)
And here is my design:
Now Grandma had lots of set in seams on her handmade quilt, but I have redrafted it for quick rotary cutting and machine stitching.I am so pleased to be able to share Grandma’s quilts here so stay tuned for a new vintage quilt each month! This Nelson’s Victory Variation Pattern (I need a better name, don’t you think?) will be posted by Monday morning, January 13, 2014.
AND I have more surprises planned. All I can say now is one will be a monthly pattern like our Doll Quilts from year before last. This one has a different spin but will be really FUN!
And our Annual Sampler Quilt this year is called Mid Century Modern. Enough said… for now!
And speaking of new things, I just added a new quilt to my Craftsy site. Strippy Stars is a versatile but easy quilt pattern.

With machine appliqued stars and off set seams, there is no matching and simple straight line stitching. Strippy Stars is a pattern you’ll make again and again!
Check it out on Craftsy now.
=========== FREE OC CLASSES =========
Don’t forget that our free NOCCCD-SCE-LEAP-OAP Quilt Classes start up again on Monday, January 6, 2014.

Please do check out my Craftsy Pattern Store where you can purchase immediate downloads of my patterns… and some new free patterns too!
Have you made the Elizabethan Star quilt? Though the Elizabethan Star is a reproduction of an antique quilt, all set in seams have been eliminated in this pattern (and it’s patterned in two sizes!) and the quilt goes together rather easily. In the Red, Green and Gold color scheme shown, it would be a wonderful addition to your holiday decor, but it’s also wonderful in reproduction fabrics, batiks… well, just about any set of fabrics! Check out the Elizabethan Star Quilt Pattern on Craftsy!
