Isn’t Spring a lovely time of year!  The birds are singing, the sun is shining and the breezes are blowing.  A perfect time for a walk in a meadow, a bike ride in the park or… to make a quilt!

We do a lot of Fabric Swaps in my quilting classes. This one is specifically designed to pull only from your stash and make a very scrappy quilt. But I’ll let you in on a secret… This quilt could be made from a Jelly Roll, Layer Cake, Charm Pack or even Fat Quarters!

The Mariner’s Compass block is a spectacular traditional quilt block that is usually pieced. This Compass Rose block is unique because it is created with Applique instead of piecing.

This ingenious block uses Flying Geese Blocks to represent waves… The waves repeat across the block like swells out on the open sea.
