Double Cowl Infinity Scarf
Here is an absolutely luxurious gift to give this year! Just a bit of minkee fabric and 15 minutes (Honest!) and you’ll have a gift sure to be appreciated and USED!
I ran across this technique on the Missouri Star Quilt Co. (Link is at end of this post). We discussed it in class and Treba found the PDF (also linked at the end of this post) from Heirloom Creations.
It is so easy! But I do have a few suggestions to make…
1. Use large seam allowances. 1/4″ just doesn’t work with the Minkee. Go at least 1/2″ or larger.
2. Try the Heirloom Creations method for seaming the tube into a loop. It works great and looks neater than the MSQC method. Yes, it requires a little hand stitching but just a few inches.
3. Be ready for a LOT of lint. The minkee is messy but the results are worth it. Have your vacuum at the ready. And be sure to clean your machine when you are done.
4. Don’t forget to twist the scarf before stitching loop.
5. Try this technique with a chiffon or silky type fabric for elegant results. It will really dress up a T-Shirt!
6. If you like this technique, try my Strips of Mink throw.
7. See number 4. It’s easy to forget!
