We are revisiting the Log Cabin quilt genre with our Shipping Lanes Block this week. A few weeks block we did the Hatches of Patches BullsEye Log Cabin Block. Shipping Lanes is just the same… But Totally Different!
This Log Cabin has a Fields and Furrows set where every other block is turned 180 degrees. The result looks like those Shipping Lanes found in certain areas of the open sea (to me!)

Last Fall, Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast hard. When the storm finally passed, the Barnegat Bay Lighthouse stood as a testament to the enduring determination of the residents of that area and a shining beacon for their recovery.

Why, Oh, Why! Why does it have to end? This series of Alphabet Blocks for Quilters has been so much fun! But it is nearly over! Just four more blocks! But there is still the setting and finishing! And we will have a brand new series for 2013! And it is gonna be beautiful so watch for that announcement! and we still have these few last blocks for the Quilters Alphabet!

We are moving through the Quilters Alphabet just as fast as 2012 is passing… This week is the letter X.
We’ve all been waiting to see the Irises bloom in the fall… At least in our Class Iris Block Swap! This traditional block is truly beautiful… And to see all the colors that other quilter’s choose is just too much fun! And they go together into such a beautiful quilt!
