Teaching in OC on Super Bowl Sunday!
Hello from Cyberspace! I will be teaching my Quilt – A – Fish pattern on Sunday February 7 at Orange Quilt Bee for Flying Geese Quilt Guild. This has been Quite a Week for this “Retired” lady! Two speaking engagement spaced about 60 hours apart! First, the Valley Quilters in Hemet and Thursday night, Night Owls Quilt Guild in Rancho Cucamonga!
Night Owls is a great guild! Large and very active in community and in quilting efforts, the Night Owls Guild meeting is an absolute hub of quilting fun and laughter.Their upcoming quilt show is Saturday, September 19th from 11 am to 5 pm in the Rancho Cucamonga Hall in the Rancho Community Center. Mark Your Calendar!

What A Great Guild! Valley Quilters In Hemet
I had a wonderful time on Tuesday visiting with the Valley Quilters Guild in Hemet, California. My lecture subject was PreCut Paradise and together we examined about 30 quilts made with precut pieces of fabric. Tonight, Thursday June 25, I am giving this same lecture at Night Owls Quilt Guild in Rancho Cucamonga (Meeting is in the David Dreier Hall at James L. Brulte Senior Center; 11200 Baseline Road; Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91701.) Meeting starts at 7!

Pine Needles Quilt Guild in Wrightwood
I had a great time last night visiting the Pine Needles Quilt Guild up in Wrightwood. This quaint little town has a thriving guild that meets on the second Tuesday of the month. I was honored to be their speaker last night.
Check out these fabulous quilts that were part of their show and tell. Absolutely stunning and there were more that I didn’t even get pictures of! Pine Needles is an active guild with high participation in the San Bernadino County Fair, great attendance at their meetings, and a retreat coming up. Another fun thing they do… In July, they have a picnic! Isn’t that a great idea?Thanks so much to this wonderful guild and all of its kind quilters!

Thank you Seaside Quilters!
What a lovely group! I had a fabulous evening with the Seaside Quilters in North San Diego yesterday. After a scenic drive down the coast I met with this talented and friendly group and we had a great discussion about seasonal quilts.
Seaside is an active guild with lots going on. Their Show and Tell featured many projects Linus and other philanthropy quilts… And just some beautiful quilts. If I’m ever in San Diego on the first Tuesday of the month… I’m going back to Seaside Quilters!

I am going to be teaching two new and wonderful classes in Anaheim this Saturday, April 11, 2015. The classes are offered Zion Lutheran Church (222 N East St (Between Lincoln and La Palma), Anaheim, CA) at the Orange County Quilters Guild Fabulous Annual Quilt Show.
In the morning, (8-11 am) we will be talking about hand piecing Pentagon Balls ($20). These round balls have just one pattern piece and are so relaxing and easy to put together, you’ll make bunches! In the afternoon, (1-4 pm) we’ll be Quick Microwave Dying Silk Scarves ($25 includes the scarves and dyes!). These scarves are easy to do and look so elegant! And they make great gifts! Have you seen my patterns on Craftsy? By popular demand, I have finally posted the pattern for my NextGen Quilt. It is so easy to make this quilt! It looks very difficult with all those odd shapes but it is SIMPLE with no templates at all!
Irene made this NextGen with lots of green as background. Isn’t it spectacular?

Recently TLC Guild member JoAnne shared her LOGS! quilt she made in my Yorba Linda class. Isn’t it wonderful in neutrals? JoAnne left off the applique and it isn’t even missed! And the LOGS! pattern is now available on my Craftsy site too!

As you can see, this is Crazy Patch for the machine age. All stitching is by machine. It is wondrous to use all those decorative stitches and different threads. Sometimes I put two threads through the needle (one on a bobbin) just to see what would happen. The results are fantastic!
