Mid-Century Modern Sampler Quilt Block 1 Sputnik!
Class Note: Hooray! Due to the Judge’s previous commitments, we are not in court this Tuesday and Wednesday (2/18 & 19) (Monday is President’s Holiday… No Class, No Jury Service!) So WE ARE GOING TO HAVE CLASS on Tuesday (Muckenthaler and Buena Park) and Wednesday (Anaheim). WHOOPPEE!!!!
This is the first block post on a wonderful new journey through history. But not distant history… just 50 to 75 years back in time to the middle of the last century. There wasn’t a lot of quilting going on post WWII, but today, the designs of that era are finding a new audience, so I decided it was time we explored Mid-Century Modern design.

Happy Valentine’s Day! Ornament Of The Month Club
Happy Valentine’s Day! No Class on Friday or Monday due to the President’s Holiday. And it seems we may be having class on Tuesday (at The Muck in Fullerton and at Buena Park Senior Center) because the judge on my Jury Service case has other commitments. The court case will resume next Thursday so class will again be day to day after that. We have been told to expect to serve Ten Days but one never knows. The parties could settle or testimony could take longer so just keep checking back here at LynBrown.com.

Reminder…No Class Friday or Monday for the Presidents’ Holidays. I will be at Jury Duty on Friday but have Monday, blissfully, off as a holiday for sure!
This Lights Tangle Block is the epitome of the Holidays for me. We put them up outside, we put them up inside, and we put them on the tree, but they are always a tangled mess…

I am honored, tickled and pleased to once again have a quilt in the new issue of Quilters World magazine. The quilt, titled Grandma’s Victory, is a simplified version of a quilt made by my husband’s grandmother, Fron Miller Brown Prosser, sometime in the middle of the last half of the 20th century.
