I don’t know much about Indiana… If you have ever lived there or visited, leave a comment below and tell me about our 19th State! Thanks!

What a lovely group! I had a fabulous evening with the Seaside Quilters in North San Diego yesterday. After a scenic drive down the coast I met with this talented and friendly group and we had a great discussion about seasonal quilts.
Seaside is an active guild with lots going on. Their Show and Tell featured many projects Linus and other philanthropy quilts… And just some beautiful quilts. If I’m ever in San Diego on the first Tuesday of the month… I’m going back to Seaside Quilters!
Don’t Forget about the OCQG Quilt Show…
I am going to be teaching two new and wonderful classes in Anaheim this Saturday, April 11, 2015. The classes are offered Zion Lutheran Church (222 N East St (Between Lincoln and La Palma), Anaheim, CA) at the Orange County Quilters Guild Fabulous Annual Quilt Show.
In the morning, (8-11 am) we will be talking about hand piecing Pentagon Balls ($20). These round balls have just one pattern piece and are so relaxing and easy to put together, you’ll make bunches! In the afternoon, (1-4 pm) we’ll be Quick Microwave Dying Silk Scarves ($25 includes the scarves and dyes!). These scarves are easy to do and look so elegant! And they make great gifts! Once you learn the simple secrets, you’ll make tons!
Sign up for these Classes (and others) through Kat Benne. You can e-mail Kat at quiltshow@orangecountyquiltersguild.com. For more info and supply lists, click here then scroll down to the grid of classes.
Come and join us for a wonderful day!
Have you seen my patterns on Craftsy? By popular demand, I have finally posted the pattern for my NextGen Quilt. It is so easy to make this quilt! It looks very difficult with all those odd shapes but it is SIMPLE with no templates at all!
Irene made this NextGen with lots of green as background. Isn’t it spectacular?
NextGen adds just one step to the Magic 9-Patch pattern (above, which is also included in this pattern) to make this spectacular quilt.
Check out my NEXTGEN/Magic 9-Patch Pattern on Craftsy!
Recently TLC Guild member JoAnne shared her LOGS! quilt she made in my Yorba Linda class. Isn’t it wonderful in neutrals? JoAnne left off the applique and it isn’t even missed! And the LOGS! pattern is now available on my Craftsy site too!
My LOGS! pattern is sort of an encyclopedia of log cabin blocks…some old, some new, some I just made up!
And that optional appliqué? It looks like it’s on the border but actually it’s added at the block stage. Check out the LOGS! pattern to see what I mean!
Strippy Stars is a simple to make quilt pattern you’ll use over and over again… Christmas or Patriotic or BABY! Or… Anything! This quick pattern has NO MATCHING SEAMS and Fusible Appliqued Stars! Quick, Quick, QUICK! Just $4.99!
Chains Of Friendship is a great scrappy pattern! Make it Christmas! Make it 1800s! Make it 30s! Make it Patriotic! Make it TODAY!! Just $4.99!
Our very popular pattern, The Herd features Rudolph and all his friends! Made from yummy Christmas Fat Quarters, it goes together easily and makes a wonderful Christmas Quilt… It’s also great for any hunters on your gift list… Just $4.99!
Again, Thank You Seaside Quilters!

The Seaside Quilt Guild is a group of friendly quilters who meet on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm at the Soledad Club in Pacific Beach, California (that’s North San Diego). And this Tuesday, I will be their speaker. My subject is going to be Quilts Through The Seasons.

As I was researching Illinois, I fell in love with the eagle on their flag! His is regal and tough and absolutely beautiful. The banner he has in his beak on the flag says: State Sovereignty – National Union, the very crux of our governmental system. I had to include him in this series, but there is a slight problem….

This post continues our monthly pillow series. For March I dug out some vintage scraps and made little Dresden fans to place in the opposite corners of our pillow. It’s funny to me how these vintage pieces look a bit modern… (more…)

Idaho is more than potatoes. It is wide open spaces and lots of history, beautiful vistas and gorgeous rivers. 60% of Idaho land is held by the National Forest Service or the Bureau of Land Management and contains some of the largest unspoiled areas in the lower 48 states.

I am off on retreat in Ventura with my friendship group this week. Boy, are we having a good time!

This is truly a miserable place (not) but I guess someone has to stay here and sew and sew and sew… It might as well be my great friendship group!

Here is a smattering of the projects from the group this week…

Hawaii… Beautiful Hawaii! I visited there many years ago, but the memory remains with me. Beautiful beaches, lovely landscapes and revitalizing relaxation! Such a gorgeous place! And Hawaii has a rich quilting history!
