I’ve often thought quiltmaking is much like film making. You choose a pattern as your “script”. Then pull together your “cast” of fabrics, You might even make a practice block as a “rehearsal”. Then you set to work…putting together each scene or block and hoping that, in the end, it all matches your vision. Sometimes the cast works beautifully together and your project wins awards. Other times… well, we’ve all seen those results!

Baltimore Comes To California Workshop Results
We had a wonderful time at the Orange County Quilters Guild –Baltimore Comes To California workshop.
There were about 10 of us over at the Orange Quilt Bee. What a large classroom they have! We were really able to spread out!
Lots of progress was made on the Baltimore Comes To California blocks. We had some California Bay Laurels (Peggy and Nancy’s blocks above) along with Pilgrim Tall Ship blocks (Susan’s block below).
What a talented group of ladies! Thanks for all your hard work.

February Strippy Hearts Pillow
Here is the second in our monthly pillow series. I’m just squeaking by the end of February with our Strippy Hearts pillow. Quick and easy to do, especially if you have already made our January Winter pillow.
The Strippy Hearts Pillow uses lots and lots of red and pink scraps. Just a bit of background really finishes it off. Add any backing you want and you can reuse the interior pillow from last month’s Winter pillow! That might be a trend!
