A Note To My NOCCCD Students:

We have at last received the news we were waiting for.  Now just over three months after his dramatic entrance, our grandson Elliott, has been given a clean bill of health. We are all so thankful and relieved!

These last few months have been wonderful though… Spending lots of time with Ellie and seeing his progress. I realize I love being a grandma to him.
And so, I have reached the difficult decision to not return to teaching. I love all my classes, but feel I now have a more important job to do.
I will continue designing quilts for my site and for publication.  Of course, I’ll continue selling patterns on Craftsy. And I have a full schedule of quilt guild speaking engagements lined up in 2015.
I know you will all understand this decision. I’ve loved teaching quilting in Orange County for more than fifteen years, and now I look forward to sewing lots more baby quilts and little boy clothes in addition to my quilting. The College District has found some great ladies to substitute this semester and I hope they will continue teaching. The teacher will change but the class will be just a wonderful as it has always been.
Thank you for your support now and through all our years together.  I’m hoping you will all keep in touch and send pics of your finished projects.
I wish you all happy quilting!

Lyn

Hi Lynn, The time has come to say farewell to the most wonderful, talented quilt teacher I have known. You have inspired me from your first class at Fullerton Senior Center, then on to the Romneya center and finally the Muckenthaler quilt class. I am so fortunate to have been one of your first members in those fun days with SO many free patterns that you distributed and which I have in a binder to refer to for my future needs.

My family have all benefited from the quilts, wall hangings, table runners, etc., and they are signed and dated for posterity. Thanks to you, there are more patterns of yours that I will make for my six children and the grandchildren with your name attached as the creator of the pattern.

Thank you for keeping us informed about Elliot and his darling pictures, and please keep posting his progress and yours as you now retire to a well deserved place with your family.

I will miss you and that wonderful class we have shared over these past 14? years but I am now well fortified in my skills and feel I can go on my own in creating from all the knowledge you have taught me.

I now send my love and best wishes to you and your darling family and please keep us informed of your lectures, quilt magazine articles, and pictures on line as I do follow you each week.

Best of luck in your future. Fondly, Mary Lou Markling

I knew you would find it difficult to leave that darling boy. Glad to hear he’s doing so well. I think that you have made a decision you will never regret! Since I have no grandchildren, I must say that I am so jealous! Thanks for all you have given us over the years. I wish you and your family every happiness!

Hi Lyn….such sad news! To say that we miss you would be a gross understatement. Our new teacher is trying her best to do a great job but the shoes she has to fill are pretty darn large. We do, of course, understand how important it is for you to spend as much time with Ellie as you possibly can….these years fly by so quickly and are so precious. My best wishes to you for your continued success with your designs and I look forward to seeing you again, hopefully, at one of our guild meetings. Thank you so much for all the years of wonderful classes with our super teacher and friend.
Fondly, Ann (Tuesdays at the Muck)

I did not know but glad to know, now, that your grandson is healthy and all is fine. I am sorry but not surprised that you will not be returning. As a grandmother of 5 I really understand. I will continue to enjoy your items, etc on Craftsy. The best to you.

    As Ever,
    Rozanne
