This beautiful little quilt (about 25″ X 32″) was made by Gwen in our Tuesday afternoon class. She used our swap of 2″ print squares (for the Postage Stamp Doll Quilt) and added in 2″ black squares. If you wanted to make a similar quilt, get a friendship swap group together or cut into your own stash! You could even swap for the Ventura 100 Doll Quilt!
After drawing in the diagonal on the light square, Gwen layered the print and the black squares right sides together then stitched on either side of the diagonal.
She cut on the diagonal, making two Half Square Triangle blocks then grouped those two with triangles made with another similar print to make a pinwheel block. The pinwheel block was trimmed to 2 1/2″. Gwen did a wonderful job laying the blocks out in waves of color. Then the framing borders in White then Black are perfect!
Isn’t it glorious! Great job, Gwen!
