Baltimore Comes To California OCQG Workshop
On Saturday, March 14, I will be teaching a daylong Baltimore Comes To California workshop for the Orange County Quilters Guild. This is in conjunction with the Trunk Show I will be doing at Orange County Quilters Guild on March 10, 2015 titled The (Brief!) History of Quilts. Don’t you just love Baltimore Album quilts? They depict all those wonderfully historic scenes from the lovely state of Maryland. I always wanted to make a quilt like that for my home state of California. California is so magnificent with historic buildings and a vast natural beauty all it’s own, I wasn’t sure I was up to the task.
With everything from our beautiful California missions to our fabulous oak trees, this California album quilt depicts the wonders of my state.
The landmarks and landscapes of this fabulous state appear in magical appliqué. Why magical? Because instead of being needle turn done by hand, this quilt is all done with simple fusible and machine appliqué!
