The Ventura 100 Doll Quilt
This is just FUN!
We had a roaring good time when we raced up to Ventura for our quilting retreat. I saw this antique quilt in a vignette at Roxanne’s Quilt Shop in Carpinteria and thought what a cute doll quilt it would make.
So on my last night at the retreat I went begging for scraps. The resulting quilt has 100 rectangles (Hence the name) and could be a charm quilt if desired though mine is not. I choose to off set every other row (Thanks, Becky!) by 1/2 a rectangle, eliminating any matching of seams. There are two suggested sizes for the quilt on the pattern PDF and, of course, you could make your rectangles any size desired and/or add more to make the quilt your own.
Also, this would be a great “First Quilt” to make with a child. Easy cutting and easy piecing. And it looks a bit modern if you have a consistent alternate fabric:
