OurLocaltopia Visits

Another wonderful Ventura Retreat with the SewNSews has entered the history books. One more extraordinary time spent with fabulous friends in a spectacular place making gorgeous quilts and sharing delicious meals.

This year, we had a very memorable meal curated by OurLocaltopia from Orange County. This unique company doesn’t just prepare a meal for you, they demonstrate their techniques, share the mouthwatering recipes and making it all so entertaining!

After a fabulous cheese and marinated olives course, we learned how to make FrittoMisto which is basically deep frying tasty items in a wine based batter. Absolutely delicious!

Then we had a fun between course treat: a Granita made of Orange County avocados. It was like a savory sorbet. And the way it was served… Unbelievable!

The menu also included mouth-watering Brussel sprouts with panchetta and delectable Rosemary roasted potatoes highlighted by heavenly Tequila Lime Chicken. So delicious!

Dessert was an ambrosial cobbler of the elusive local Ventura strawberry served in tiny mason jars. Did I already say Absolutely Delicious?
