Nautical Tumble Sampler Quilt – Block 15 – Ship Ahoy Pieced Sailboat Block
Way off on the horizon… I can see the Sails! The Ship is coming into port! Ship Ahoy! Ship Ahoy!
This Pieced Sailboat Ship Ahoy block is surrounded with Postage Stamp size 16-Patches… But have no fear! They are made from little strip pieced 4-Patches.
Note the different sail arrangement on these two blocks. Use one of these or create another.
The secret of this block is the arrangement of the piecework. Using strips, 4-Patches are pieced then combined together into 16-Patches. 8 of the 16-Patches surround the sailboat to complete your block. Do be careful and use an accurate 1/4″ seam allowance. The detailed Pattern PDF is linked below.
