Nautical Tumble Block 11 “Jonathan”

“It was morning, and the new sun sparkled gold across the ripples of a gentle sea.”

Here is our next block in the exploration of all things Nautical… Jonathan… Named, of course, for Jonathan Livingston Seagull, a popular book during the 1970s.  Isn’t this a sweet quote above from the book? It surely applies to this golden quilt we are making.

NT Jonathan

I’d also like to dedicate this block to Mr. Jonathan Winters, who passed away on Friday.  His sharp and inventive comic wit brought laughter to millions.  The free PDF of this Patternfor the seagull block of The Nautical Tumble Quilt is available below near the end of this post.  The archive of previous Nautical Tumble blocks is here.

Thank you for Jonathan Livingston Seagull – we still refer to seagulls as ‘Jonathan’. Nice of you to dedicate this one to Jonathan Winters.
