I am tickled to be presenting this new project for my classes and quilters everywhere. The Nautical Tumbler is based upon a tumbler quilt presented a few years ago all in Japanese taupes and appliqued with floral motifs. It was beautiful.
But it wasn’t until the nautical theme was suggested (Thanks to Julie H.) that I thought about designing my own version.

Think of the possibilities… Ships and Anchors, Compasses and Lighthouses, Seagulls and Whales depicted on pieced tumbler blocks. Yummy! I’m thinking monochromatic for those tumblers… light, medium and dark… Blues? Greens? Taupes? You choose and remember… we’ll have appliqué too!
