Picking Daisies
It is a Small World and I can prove it!
While we were traveling on the Central Coast (of California) we stopped in a quilt shop I had never visited (or heard of frankly!) We were in San Luis Obispo and I googled for a local shop and up popped Picking Daisies. It’s kind of hidden in a charming mini mall that used to be a Creamery.
Picking Daisies didn’t start out as a quilt shop. In fact, it’s owners, DeDe and Kay, aren’t even quilters! They started out making napkins for all occasions.
That endeavor brought them to cotton fabrics and then to quilters. But I digress…
So I walked in to this cute, cheerful shop and asked if I could take some pics for my blog. I explained I was a teacher for NOCCCD. Well, one thing led to another and we soon realized we all went to the same high school! At very nearly the same time! Now that is a small world!
Their small shop is filled with cute displays,
Some modern quilts…
Lots of cute stuff…
Picking Daisies doesn’t carry blenders (tone on tones or small prints) or notions but they do have lots of wonderful prints. Check out their website. Ooh, and they have a great blog with some informative tutorials too!
Drop by the next time you are in San Luis Obispo.
In the meantime, look around this site for LOTS of other dynamite gift ideas and other free patterns.
