Louisiana Is Calling
Many Thanks to North Cities Quilt Guild for a wonderful evening! You are a great enthusiastic group! Thanks also to all who responded to my call for quilts! Wow! They were ALL quite BEAUTIFUL!
Julie W. from our Friday class was recently in Louisiana and scouting for Quilt Shops. She tells of her visit to a charming Quilt Shop…
“This one is in Ruston, LA, near Interstate 20. It is Louisiana #4 in the Quilters Travel Companion. It doesn’t look like much on the outside and is in a very small, old town, but the inside was a pleasant surprise.
A very nice selection of many fabric types, Pfaff and Baby Lock machines, and a helpful clerk. The owners are an older couple.
She wasn’t there but he was – fun to talk to and he is the mechanic for the shop. Worth a stop.”
Looks like a great shop! Check out The Fabric Shop’s Website. Quilting is strong in small communities. And big cities too! If you visit a shop, take some pics (ask first) and send them to me for posting with just a few sentences about the shop. It is such fun to see and hear about the different shops across the country and around the world!
Summer is officially upon us. I’m hoping you will have some lazy afternoons (or mornings or evenings!) to stitch. Remember there is always lots happening on this site. If you need any of our Quilter’s Alphabet patterns (This Block Of The Week will continue through the summer), check the archives. And browse around the site for lots of other free patterns. We are working on our 2012 series of Doll Quilts and lots more swap patterns! And there are even more Patterns on my Etsy site.
And coming soon will be our 2012 Fall Quilts which will be the glorious and historic Burgoyne Surrounded (Supply List now available) and the beautiful Iris Quilt. And just posted for this summer: The 2012 Sunset and Vine Mystery Quilt Supply List. Clues begin July 3. Lots of great things are happening at LynBrown.com.
Thanks for stopping by.
