I have set myself a challenge for 2015. And that is to explore the Modern Movement in Quiltmaking today. And I have determined an interesting way to do this… We are going to explore the states of the USA and interpret an aspect of each state in a modern quilt block. I hope you will follow along wherever in the world you live and learn about modern Quiltmaking along with my country while learning about our states.
To get us started here is the list of needed fabrics. We will be making 9″ blocks. Stay tuned!

As you can see, this is Crazy Patch for the machine age. All stitching is by machine. It is wondrous to use all those decorative stitches and different threads. Sometimes I put two threads through the needle (one on a bobbin) just to see what would happen. The results are fantastic! Thanks for sticking with us, Lyn….we miss you, but can totally understand why you’ve ‘retired’. Wish I could have done that when my children were babes – your grandson (and his folks) is/are so fortunate to have your undivided attention – this is as it should be (in a perfect world).
